Platform

For some reason, I keep getting questions about the platform I use for this site, so I thought I’d reply here once and for all so that I don’t have to keep repeating myself.  To be honest, I’m a little puzzled by these demands because the word “WordPress” is visible on the site.

As you may or may not know, one third of the sites on Internet are powered by WordPress, and this is what I am using.  It’s a platform particularly well-adapted to blogs and regular posting.  But be careful: there are two types of WordPress.

WordPress.com is for bloggers who don’t have their own site but who want to write posts without the hassle and expense of creating their own site.  They have a page which is hosted by WordPress itself and the layout is pretty standard.

WordPress.org on the other hand requires you to have your own site, which means owning a domain and hosting your site with a provider.  The advantage of this is that you have control over your content and how it’s presented.  You can choose from different themes, customise them and make different types of pages.  This is the kind of WordPress platform I have.

I hope this answers your questions because I should warn you that further requests for information about the platform will go unanswered!

Hoping for your understanding….

Love

Richard
